These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the website located at thegroundedspacechi.com ("Site") and your engagement with the services offered by The Grounded Space Interior Design Studio ("The Grounded Space," "I," "me," or "my"), a sole proprietorship owned and operated by Nikki Williams Rucker, Interior Designer & Sensory Space Consultant, based in Chicago, Illinois.

By accessing or using this Site, submitting an inquiry, or engaging my services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use this Site or engage my services.

Use of This Website

This Site is provided for informational purposes, to showcase my portfolio, describe my services, and allow prospective and current clients to get in touch. You agree to use this Site only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others or restrict their use of the Site.

  • Reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, or exploit any portion of the Site or its content without my express written permission

  • Use the Site to transmit any unsolicited or unauthorized advertising or promotional material

Services Offered

The Grounded Space offers the following interior design and consulting services:

  • Residential Interior Design, full and partial interior design services for homes and living spaces

  • Sensory & Educational Spaces, specialized design for environments that support sensory needs, including spaces for children, schools, and therapeutic settings

  • Home Organization Systems, functional organization solutions tailored to individual lifestyles and spatial needs

Descriptions of services on this Site are provided for general informational purposes only. The specific scope, deliverables, timeline, and pricing for any engagement will be defined in a separate written agreement or proposal provided to you prior to work commencing.

Inquiries & Consultations

Submitting a contact form, sending an email, or booking a consultation through this Site does not constitute a binding contract or guarantee of services. A formal client relationship is only established upon execution of a signed service agreement or proposal and receipt of any required deposit or payment.

I reserve the right to decline any project inquiry at my sole discretion.

Intellectual Property

All content on this Site, including but not limited to text, photography, graphics, logos, design concepts, mood boards, renderings, project plans, and the overall look and feel of the Site, is the exclusive intellectual property of The Grounded Space or is used with permission from the rightful owners, and is protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, republish, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any content on this Site without my express prior written consent.

Client project work: Unless otherwise agreed in writing, I retain full copyright and ownership of all design concepts, drawings, specifications, mood boards, and other creative materials developed during a client engagement. Upon full payment, clients receive a limited, non-exclusive license to use the final agreed-upon deliverables for their intended personal or project purpose only.

Portfolio & Photography

I reserve the right to photograph completed projects and use those images for my portfolio, website, social media, press features, and other promotional materials, unless you have expressly requested otherwise in writing prior to project completion. Any such request should be communicated to me directly at connect@thegroundedspacechi.com.

Payment & Project Terms

Payment terms, deposit requirements, cancellation policies, and project timelines are outlined in your individual service agreement or proposal. By signing a service agreement, you agree to those specific terms in addition to these general Terms & Conditions.

In the event of a conflict between these Terms and a signed service agreement, the terms of the signed service agreement will prevail.

Disclaimer of Warranties

This Site and all of its content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. I do not warrant that:

  • The Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components

  • The information on the Site is complete, accurate, or current

  • Any specific results will be achieved from the use of the Site or engagement of my services

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, I disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Grounded Space and Nikki Williams Rucker shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of this Site or engagement of my services, even if I have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

My total liability to you for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to me for services in the three (3) months preceding the claim.

Privacy

Your use of this Site is also governed by my Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference and available at thegroundedspacechi.com. By using the Site, you consent to the practices described in that policy.

Modifications to These Terms

I reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Site following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. I encourage you to review this page periodically.

Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois.
